accomplishments

H.E.A.R.T. was formed in 2006 by a group of shelter volunteers and employees who wanted to improve the care of Chula Vista Animal Care Facility (CVACF) animals and assist our pet owning community. We purchased needed medical supplies that the city budget could not cover and supported our kitten foster program by supplying kitten formula and medications to raise nearly 700 kittens the first year. Over the last 5 years, H.E.A.R.T. has continued to support the CVACF medical program by building a new medical wing at the shelter. In 2012, our organization was responsible for a $150,000 cattery expansion, a project that has doubled the capacity of our shelter cattery. H.E.A.R.T. currently sponsors free spay/neuter services for low income South Bay residents. Your donations make miracles happen!
